ROAD-RAIL Cars For Emergency Maintenance

The road-rail cars for emergency maintenance are built on the basis of the reworked all-road cars UAZ-3163 – Patriot, UAZ – Pickup or UAZ (3303, 39094, 3741, 39625, 3909, 2206). They are designed to perform the following tasks:

  • surveys and scheduled inspections of low-density railway track sections and engineering facilities (LDM-1-I);
  • scheduled and emergency maintenance (LDM-1-T);
  • shunting operations at the station and spur tracks (LDM-1-M). 

These road-rail cars come with TVEMA proprietary devices and equipment intended for shunting operations and installation/removal from the railway track. The road-rail cars for emergency maintenance are available in the following versions:

 LDM-1-I road-rail inspection car

The LDM-1-I road-rail inspection car is built on the basis of the all-road car UAZ-3163 – Patriot. The car is intended for operational scheduled inspections of low-density and station railway tracks and engineering facilities

of the railway transport. LDM-1-I is designed to transport the mobile inspection crew comprising 4 people (including the driver) and the repair equipment.  Due to road-rail equipment, LDM-1-I may travel not only on roads (motorways, crosscountry terrain), but also on railway tracks.

 LDM-1-I comprises:

  • all-road car;
  • road-rail system;
  • SSPS KH traffic safety system;
  • dedicated equipment set (equipment for track inspection);
  • inspector’s computer workstations.

LDM-1-T road-rail car for emergency repair works

The LDM-1-T road-rail car is designed to transport the mobile repair crew and equipment to the place of scheduled and emergency repair works at the railway infrastructure facilities. Due to road-rail equipment,

LDM-1-T may travel not only on roads (motorways, cross-country terrain), but also on railway tracks.

LDM-1-T is available in two variants:

  • on the basis of UAZ – Pickup car with up to 5 seats;
  • on the basis of UAZ car (3303, 39094, 3741, 39625, 3909, 2206) with 2 - 8 seats.

LDM-1-T comprises:

  • all-road car;
  • road-rail system;
  • SSPS KH traffic safety system;
  • dedicated equipment set (manual and electric track inspection tools). 

LDM-1-M road-rail shunting car

The LDM-1-M road-rail shunting car is built on the basis of the all-road car UAZ 2363 Pickup and is designed to perform shunting operations at the station and spur tracks and to haul carriages to the loading areas.

Due to road-rail equipment, LDM-1-M may travel not only on roads (motorways, crosscountry terrain), but also on railway tracks.

LDM-1-M comprises:

  • all-road car;
  • road-rail system;
  • SSPS KH traffic safety system;
  • dedicated equipment set for shunting operations.

The dedicated equipment set comprises:

  • driver’s brake valve;
  • compressor plant;
  • pressure gauge;
  • brake hose;
  • coupler.

The coupler, which is unprecedented, was designed by TVEMA specialists specially for this vehicle.
